4. Eligibility Criteria – Do You Qualify?

4.1 Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
  • K.G.T.E. Higher in Typewriting (English) and Shorthand (English) or equivalent.
  • Desirable: Certificate in Computer Word Processing. 

4.2 Age Limits

  • SC/ST: Born between 02 Jan 1984 – 01 Jan 2007
  • OBC & Listed Communities: Born between 02 Jan 1986 – 01 Jan 2007
    Special relaxations apply for ex-servicemen, persons with disabilities (up to 15 years), and widows, subject to a hard upper cap of 50 years. 

5. Selection Procedure – How Merit Is Tested

  1. Dictation Test (100 marks)
    • Passage of ~1,100–1,200 words dictated for 10 minutes @ 100–120 wpm.
    • Transcription on computer in 2½ hours.
  2. Interview (10 marks) – assessing communication, accuracy and service mindset.

Candidates must score ≥50 % separately in both stages to feature on the ranked list. 

Note: No scribe or compensatory time is allowed, as shorthand skill is integral to the role.

  1. One-Time Registration (OTR): Create a profile at the High Court recruitment portal and upload a recent passport photo & signature (face centred, light background).
  2. Document Upload: Self-attested degree, K.G.T.E. certificates, equivalency orders (if any). Preview before submission; edits are locked afterward.
  3. Recruitment Selection: Tick the recruitment numbers (05/2025 or/and 06/2025) relevant to your community.
  4. Fee Payment:
    • ₹500 via debit/credit card, net-banking, or system-generated challan.
