- 250-word Research Statement detailing past research experience and motivation for this project.
- Referee Details: Name and email ID or phone number of at least one referee who can provide feedback on the candidate’s academic background.
On the interview date, candidates must bring:
- Hard copy of CV.
- Research Write-up.
- Original Mark Sheets/Grade Cards for B.Sc. and M.Sc., NET/GATE scorecard/rank card/certificate of award. Self-attested Xerox copies of the original documents will be accepted, subject to verification at a later date if selected.
Minimum Educational Qualifications Required
- MSc/MS/BS-MS or equivalent in any branches of Biology with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade from a recognized board/university.
- Qualification in the National Eligibility Test (NET) at the JRF/LS level or Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE).
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience in mouse handling, stereotaxic surgery, qPCR, in situ hybridization, and immunoprecipitation.
- Prior experience in programming languages (preferably Python and R) and deep learning algorithms.
Job Description
The selected JRF will contribute to understanding the role of long non-coding RNAs in early life stress-induced aggressive behavior using mouse model systems and molecular biology techniques. The responsibilities include:
- Conducting molecular biology experiments and behavioral studies.
- Analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
- Publishing scientific findings in reputed peer-reviewed international journals.
- Collaborating with other laboratories within Presidency University and other research institutes.
Ph.D. Enrollment
The selected candidate may be allowed to enroll in the Ph.D. program as per university rules.
Project Duration and Tenure of Assignment
- Project Duration: Three years.
- Tenure of Assignment: One year, extendable annually based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Fellowship/Salary
- As per DST-SERB norms: INR 31,000 + 24% HRA per month for JRF.
